Description

Formerly Lakes DHB Occupational Therapy

Occupational Therapy services are provided at both Rotorua and Taupō hospitals with a complement of senior and staff occupational therapists along with assistant staff.  Staff are based throughout the services:

  • Older Persons and Rehabilitation Service
  • Medicine
  • Surgical Service
  • Clinical Support Service
  • Child Health Service - Children's Health Hub - Te Aka Mauri
  • Mental Health Service - MHSOP, Te Ngako, ICAMS, Whare Whakaue Unit

Child / Tamariki, Youth / Rangatahi, Adult / Pakeke, Older adult / Kaumātua

Referral Expectations

Referrals are accepted from general practitioners and health professionals in the primary sector or Te Whatu Ora Lakes consultants.

Fees and Charges Description

New Zealand citizens or those who have obtained permanent residence are entitled to publicly funded health care.

Non-residents may be required to pay for their health care.

Inpatient assessment and rehabilitation, Specialist wheelchair and seating services, Specialist lying and positioning, Specialist equipment provision - manual handling, pressure relief, Home safety assessments, Outpatient rehabilitation/education - cardiac rehabilitation, respiratory education, joint replacement education, fatigue management, scar management, functional retraining - one armed dressing and undressing etc, Environmental home accessibility
