Description
Pukekohe Hospital comprises of a Primary Birthing Unit and a Rehabilitation and Care Ward. As part of Counties Manukau we also offer a growing range of specialist outpatient clinics and community services delivering care close to home for our people.
Pukekohe Hospital currently has 20 beds, 15 of which are dedicated for Assessment Treatment and Rehabilitation. The balance of the beds are used for Palliative and interim care. The Primary Birthing Unit has 2 birthing rooms and 8 beds.
The ward is managed by a Charge Nurse Manager. The staff consists of a Community Geriatrician, Local GP and Nurse Practitioner, Registered Nurses, Allied Health Professionals, Health Care Assistants and Administration staff.
Pukekohe Hospital hosts the Mobile Surgical Unit every six weeks, offering minor surgery on referral.
Mental Health services, Maternity services, Community Health Service, Public Health Nurses and an Outpatient Rehabilitation Service are also based at the Hospital.
The Maternity Resource Centre offers advice for pregnancy and antenatal care and is located at the entrance to the Birthing Unit.

Visiting Hours
- Visiting hours for family/whaanau are 2pm – 8pm. Two visitors per patient at any one time during visiting hours.
- Patients may have one key support person who may visit between 8am – 8pm This will be restricted to adults only.
- Overnight visiting (8pm – 8am) for the key support person will be considered under compassionate grounds only.
- No children under 16 years unless approved under compassionate grounds.

Parking
There are six disability car parks at the front entrance of Pukekohe Hospital. There is parking along the drive way for patients. Further parking is available (30 car parks) for patients and staff on the left as you enter the main drive - All parking is free however there is limited space, please allow time for parking before your appointment.

Charges
There are no charges for services to public patients if you are lawfully in New Zealand and meet one of the Eligibility Directions specified criteria set by the Ministry of Health. If you do not meet the criteria, you will be required to pay for the full costs of any medical treatment you receive during your stay.
