Manaaki Raatonga aa Iwi works with tangata whaiora who are currently utilising the Mental Health and Addictions service or Hauora Waikato. The service is located on Ohaupo Road.  
We offer a range of group and individual opportunities supporting social inclusion, living well in the community and vocational goals.

Staff

Staff onsite are a mix of occupational therapists and rehab support workers.  The team has a focus on individual recovery goals via individual and group opportunities.

Referral

Health New Zealand, Te Whatu Ora staff can complete an internal referral for tangata whaiora.  Self referrals can be made in person via the triage team at Te Kuuwaha o te Waiora - 135 Silverdale Road, Hillcrest, Gate 10, University of Waikato

Manaaki Raatonga aa Iwi provides work opportunities via employment contracts in JustWork car valeting, Just Work lawn care, JustWork property maintenance and JustWork cleaning services. 

Individuals with high and complex needs continue to experience low employment rates. Occupational therapists play an important role in helping individuals develop the skills and obtain the supports necessary for productive living.

Coping through the senses

This is a 3 week group with a 1:1 follow up session utilising sensory modualtion strategies to help people find ways to feel calm, focussed and able to manage challenges within daily life. The group is held in a comfortable, friendly welcoming home style environment. Numbers of participants will be kept small to maximise individual learning - support people are also welcome to attend
