Whangārei Rape Crisis Inc

Sexual Harm Service

Description

24-hour Emergency Response for those who have experienced Rape or Sexual Violence.

We offer listening and support 24-hours a day 7 days a week through our crisis line. Our crisis service can also include in-person support, including during forensic and therapeutic examinations. Time with our service includes creating a support plan to meet survivors' immediate needs and ongoing support to achieve goals for healing and recovery.

We are not only a crisis service. Many people who contact us have experienced rape and/or sexual abuse some time ago. Our services are available to anyone who has experienced rape and/or sexual abuse, no matter when it happened.

Our court service provides support throughout the court process. We can be present at court hearings, before and after evidential video interviews, and at any other stage. We work with partners such as police and Court Victim Advisors to ensure survivors' emotional, psychological, and practical needs are met as they take the necessary steps to seek justice.

In our space are three support rooms and a resting room. Our waiting room is open to anyone dropping in or waiting for an appointment. We also have a shower available. We welcome survivors and their whānau to drop in anytime and share in our space.
