Anamata is a Youth One Stop Shop (YOSS), offering free, accessible, and confidential health and social services for young people aged 12–24, as well as low-cost sexual health services for those aged 25 and over in the Taupō/Tūrangi District. As a Charitable Trust, Anamata has been proudly serving the Taupō/Tūrangi community for over 30 years.

Awhi House Clinic – Tūrangi
We also run a weekly clinic at Awhi House in Tūrangi for wāhine in the community. This clinic offers support for all sexual health and contraception needs, as well as pregnancy support.

Services Provided
Sexual Health & Contraception Anamata offers inclusive sexual health support for all ages, including STI testing, contraception consultations and procedures, access to condoms, and cervical screening. Our expert staff empower individuals with the knowledge to make safe, informed decisions about their sexual health and wellbeing. Youth Physical Health Our team provides physical health care in areas such as puberty, nutrition, general health, pregnancy, and vaccinations, as well as referrals to other health services. If you're worried about your rangatahi and finding it difficult to make a GP appointment, they’re welcome to come and see us at school or at our Spa Road clinic. School Nurse Our school nurses provide support for a wide range of health needs, including physical health, mental wellbeing, injuries, contraception, body image, relationships, and more. They also offer referrals to specialist services where needed. Mental Health & Wellbeing At Anamata, we provide primary mental health support tailored for youth. Our mission is to create safe, inclusive spaces that foster resilient healing, customised to meet each individual's unique needs. We are dedicated to dismantling stigma and promoting lasting wellbeing. Our counsellors employ a diverse range of skills and strategies to empower rangatahi to navigate life's challenges with confidence and strength. Peer Support Mentoring Our dedicated youth workers are here to offer mentorship, guidance, and support—whether you're facing personal challenges, setting goals, or just need someone to talk to. They're committed to walking alongside you, helping you grow in confidence, develop life skills, and navigate your journey with encouragement and care. Health Promotion & Education We are committed to empowering rangatahi through our health promotion and education work. By providing knowledge, support, and engaging events, we help young people make informed decisions about their health and wellbeing. Pride Pack Rainbow Groups Our wellbeing team is dedicated to creating a safe and inclusive space for our takatāpui rangatahi.
