Description

Hutt Valley Women's Refuge provides support and information to women and children who experience family violence. Victims may be in same-sex relationships, transgender or non-binary. No one deserves to be abused and family violence is never OK. We support families across the wider Hutt Valley region.

Our vision is for all women and children to live free from domestic and family violence.

Our free confidential services include:

  • A safe house for victims of family violence in immediate need of refuge
  • 24-hour crisis line
  • Safety planning / Safety orders
  • Access to in-home police monitored alarms
  • Advocacy (police, legal, court, WINZ, housing, doctors, schools and Oranga Tamariki)
  • Assessment and referral advice to counsellors, doctors, lawyers and other support services
