Visions offers Contracted Emergency Housing support in Rotorua across six (6) sites, catering to individuals and whānau experiencing homelessness. This vital service ensures a safe and secure environment, complemented by comprehensive wrap-around support services. Our primary objective is to facilitate individuals in achieving their goals and accessing sustainable, long-term housing solutions. This service is in collaboration with housing hub Te Pokapu and Te Arawa iwi. To ensure the well-being and security of the residents, our facilities maintain round-the-clock security personnel, and our dedicated team of Social Workers is available on weekdays from 8.30am to 5pm.

As a contracted provider of Transitional Housing in Rotorua and South Waikato, Visions is dedicated to offering individuals and whānau warm, dry, and secure short-term accommodations. Our comprehensive service model involves a skilled and compassionate team composed of Housing Navigators, Social Workers, and Property Managers who work closely with each household. The primary objective is to facilitate the sourcing of permanent and sustainable housing options for our clients. We employ various approaches to acquire suitable properties.

Additionally we focus on providing connections to additional support services such as Work and Income services, budgeting advice, and healthcare resources.

The Transitional Housing code of practice encompasses elements such as ensuring healthy and safe housing environments, fostering pleasant living conditions, implementing transparent exit processes, and facilitating effective issue management.

Established in May 2018, the Visions Taupō Women's Shelter has been a crucial resource for women and children in need. With its 11 thoughtfully designed rooms, our shelter provides a safe and nurturing environment for those seeking refuge and support. Our dedicated team of kaimahi exemplifies values of kindness, grace, and strength as they guide and uplift the residents on their journey towards healing and personal growth.

At the heart of our Women's Shelter is a profound sense of community. Women and children form deep bonds with one another, fostering a network of mutual support that empowers each individual. Within this supportive environment, residents find solace, strength, and the crucial tools needed to rebuild their lives. Through our Women's Shelter, Visions not only provides a physical space but also creates a transformative experience where hope thrives, and individuals can reclaim their lives. By nurturing the unique needs of women and children, we enable them to transcend their current circumstances and embrace a brighter future.

At Visions, we proudly operate the Mana Aroha Whare and Community Laundromat, an inclusive space that offers a range of valuable services to whānau. Our second-hand store provides an array of clothing and furniture options, catering to the diverse needs of our community members. Additionally, our facility includes three showers, including one with disability access, as well as a well-equipped Laundromat comprising six commercial washing machines and four dryers.

The Mana Aroha Whare and Community Laundromat serve as a haven for individuals facing challenging circumstances, such as those without access to electricity in their homes or those experiencing rough sleeping. We are dedicated to supporting these individuals by offering our services and facilities. We understand the importance of maintaining hygiene and dignity, and our services help fulfill these basic needs.

While these services are not funded, they are essential to the community. We appreciate any contributions made through koha by those who can afford it. These donations help sustain our facility and enable us to continue providing vital support to those in need.

At Visions, we are dedicated to perpetuating potential and assisting clients, including those in lower-income jobs, to seek and be equipped for better, higher-paying employment opportunities. Our mission is to empower whānau to overcome barriers and achieve personal and professional growth through our dedicated Recruitment and Training Service.

To achieve this, we start by conducting a comprehensive assessment process designed to gain a deep understanding of each individual's current situation and identify any barriers and challenges they may be facing. This assessment forms the foundation for a tailored plan, which serves as the basis for an individualized programme that addresses their specific needs.

Our robust programme focuses on targeted interventions and support. It encompasses a range of components, including pre-employment skills development, mental health care, financial education, alcohol and drug support, as well as a meaningful kaupapa Māori segment that incorporates whakapapa and tikanga. By integrating these elements, we ensure a holistic approach that addresses the multifaceted needs of our clients.

Following the successful entry of individuals into employment and/or training, we provide ongoing support through a collaboratively designed individualised programme. This programme aims to foster engagement, motivation, and sustained support as our clients embark on their new ventures. We understand the importance of establishing a solid foundation for individuals to thrive and succeed, and we are committed to walking alongside them.
