Description
Wikitoria Māori Healing is a ACC registered Rongoā Māori practitioner based in Rotorua.
I am an ACC-registered Rongoā Māori practitioner, specialising in the traditional Māori healing art, Romiromi, an ancient holistic practice passed down from our ancestors -'he taonga tuku iho'
I am based in Ngongotahā, Rotorua and offer a maximum of four treatments (unless I think more will be of benefit) that include a combination of whakawhiti kōrero(sharing talk), karakia(ancient prayer) and Romiromi bodywork, depending on the needs of the individual. Allow one hour per session.
Our Kaupapa Māori Approach: Is based on the universal 'lore' of nature that supports us in a culturally safe practice. Our mission is your wellness. The human birthright is to be in balance. Life can pose many challenges that can upset that balance. 'Mauri ki te mauri' is our mahi. Firstly we acknowledge and embrace the meeting and connecting of our life force, linking us to our tupuna and whakapapa back to IO, Source of all. We mihi to Papatuānuku for our grounding and support.

Wikitoria is an ACC registered rongoā māori practitioner.
In 2001 I met the renown tohunga Papa Hohepa De La Mere (Papa Joe) who ran traditional healing clinics in Auckland, and took healing wānanga around Aotearoa and worldwide. I was given the opportunity to train in these clinics and learn the practical Romiromi supported by mirimiri and the ancient Māori philosophies.
I am forever grateful for this passing on of matauranga (knowledge). After Papa Joe passed in 2006 I continued learning with Kaiako Ruatau Perez.
In 2010 I shifted to one of my tribal homelands, Rotorua, and opened a private practice, Wikitoria Māori Healing.
Traditional Māori healing had been suppressed in the twentieth century so it was still widely unknown even amongst our own people. This inspired me in 2011 to started teaching Romiromi and passing down the knowledge I had been gifted. Today my primary work is facilitating monthly Romiromi workshops in Rotorua.
I was delighted when the government and ACC officially recognised our traditional healing methods. Many ACC Māori Rongoā practitioners have trained with me and my colleagues Cran Gage, Mihaka Hohua and Timoti Huia Bramley. Kei te mihi. Kei te mihi.

Services Provided
ACC Rongoā Māori ACC recognise rongoā Māori as a kaupapa Māori service. It's culturally grounded care that weaves tikanga Māori, mātauranga Māori, te reo Māori, and te ao Māori through all aspects of the service. We respect that these aspects embrace ngā taonga tuku iho (intergenerational gifts and knowledge handed down from tupuna Māori). We see rongoā Māori in the wider context of traditional Māori healing methodologies. ACC don't consider healing techniques from non-Māori cultural traditions, such as reiki or hyperbaric oxygen treatment, part of rongoā Māori. Even if they're provided by rongoā Māori practitioners.
