Programmes
Clients live as a family, sharing all the tasks of running the house including catering, cleaning, gardening and providing their own entertainment. The more senior residents act as role models for the newer residents. Clients must be highly motivated to make positive lifestyle changes and open to Therapeutic Community Concepts of 'My Recovery is Your Recovery'. The four cornerstone model of Te Whare Tapa Wha is incorporated into assisting clients to make lifestyle changes.

Referral Process
All referrals come from Community Alcohol and Drug Services (CADS) and Non-Government Organisations (NGOs) throughout the South Island. Referrers will determine client suitability for our programme. A comprehensive assessment is then sent to the clinical team at St Marks for processing and if accepted a date of entry is given.

Referral Process
St Marks has a contract to fund Managed Withdrawal (7 Days at any one time) also referred to as "Social Detox". This bed is available to Nelson/Marlborough clients only. At the time of allocating an admission date this will be discussed and, if utilised, the 7 days will be added to their programme duration.

Public Transport
There is no public transport other than taxi services. The town centre is a 10-minute walk from St Marks.
Parking
All visitors park on the Main Street. If a client travels to St Marks in their own vehicle they are not permitted to leave the vehicle on Main Street while they are in residential treatment. They are required to have a friend or relative remove it for the duration of their stay.
