Description
Beattie Home is a 36 bed, rural community-focused not-for-profit, residential care facility and 20 bed dementia Home. There is a 19 unit village adjacent to the Home. Papakaainga Homestead provides dementia day stay and a community activity programme is also supported within Beattie Home during weekdays.
Beattie Home is governed by Beattie Community Trust (Inc) and managed by a Registered Nurse, experienced in Aged Care. The Home is located in Ōtorohanga and is within walking / wheelchair distance to the township.
Staff
We have an experienced Clinical Nurse Leader who, with 2 other R/Ns and 2 E/Ns, works with a wonderful team of caregivers (buddies) to support all residents and their families.
We provide activities 7 days a week with an Activities Coordinator overseeing a team of DTs and dedicated activity staff.
A large number of ancillary staff support the team and residents in all aspects of living and working at Beattie Home and Papakainga Homestead.
Most staff are of long work history with Beattie Home, one big family!
With encouragement we especially welcome school leavers to commence their careers in the Aged Care sector.
We also support students from Otago University and Wintec to complete their practicals with us.
