Beattie Home & Hospital is a trusted, community-focused aged care facility nestled in the heart of Ōtorohanga. We proudly offer a total of 58 beds across two facilities:

- Beattie Home & Hospital, a welcoming and well-established facility with 36 beds, including 10 dual-purpose rooms that can cater to either rest home or hospital-level care, depending on individual needs.

- Papakāinga Homestead, our modern and purpose-built Dementia care facility, offering 22 rooms, designed to reflect the warmth and familiarity of home while meeting the needs of those living with Dementia.

We provide 24/7 care with a Registered Nurse on site at all times, ensuring that residents receive timely clinical support day and night. Our team of experienced caregivers, nurses, and allied health professionals are passionate about delivering compassionate, personalised care that supports the physical, emotional, and social wellbeing of every resident.

Beattie Home operates under the governance of the Beattie Community Trust (Inc) and is managed by Olive Utiera, a Registered Nurse.

Staff

At Beattie Home, we are proud to have a dedicated and compassionate team of approximately 70 staff members who work together to provide exceptional care for our residents.

Our leadership team is led by Olive Utiera, the General Manager, and is supported by a Clinical Nurse Leader, and 5 other Registered Nurses and one Enrolled Nurse. These professionals collaborate closely with our wonderful team of caregivers to ensure the highest level of care and support for both residents and their families.

In addition, our Diversional Therapist oversees a team of Activities Coordinators who provide engaging activities seven days a week to enrich the lives of our residents.

At Beattie Home, we are committed to creating a warm and nurturing environment where everyone feels valued and cared for.

We also support students from Otago University and Wintec to complete their practicals with us.

Beattie Home & Hospital is situated at 172 Maniapoto Street, Ōtorohanga. 

The main entrance is opposite Woolworths Ōtorohanga. 

Access to the Wilshier Centre is also off the main street, just before the main entrance with available parking.

Papakāinga Homestead's physical address is 16 Orahiri Tce, Ōtorohanga - dedicated parking is available outside the building.

Public Transport

Beattie Home has 3 vehicles to assist residents, staff and volunteers with transport. A small car, a larger SUV and a mobility van with a certified hoist for wheelchair access, all owned by Beattie Community Trust Inc. (all purchased with funding over the years by our wonderful community.)

Beattie Home is a short walk, wheelchair or mobility scooter ride to the Ōtorohanga township.

Parking

We have ample parking available on site with disability parking and access at all entrances.

The surrounding streets also have plenty of parking for when we hold big events.
