Independent Spaces is a private Community Occupational Therapy Service in the Auckland/Tāmaki Makaurau region specialising in creating personalised solutions to support you remaining safe and independent at home.

Services we offer include:
Home based initial assessments of your existing function in daily tasks 
Appropriate provision of equipment and/or home modifications to support independence
Housing Support letters

Our service begins with a comprehensive home based occupational therapy assessment with you in your own home. This includes assessing:

• home access
• moving around your home
• non-accessible bathroom
• day-to-day tasks

Based on the assessment findings, your occupational therapist will develop an action plan individualised to you and your situation.
Interventions fall into two categories:

• Equipment - items that are portable and designed to help make particular day-to-day tasks of concern easier or safer for you and/or those caring for you.
• Home Modifications - changes to the physical home environment that may present as an existing or future barrier or could be better adapted to support your safety.

We hold Ministry of Health accreditation for equipment and home modification funded, and we are ACC registered.
