Staff

Leanne Ma: Senior Audiologist, MNZAS CCC, MAud (Hons), BSc
Throughout her career, Leanne has been a Clinical Trainer for New Zealand, providing support for experienced clinicians and graduate audiologists across the country.
She is passionate about increasing awareness for the importance of hearing health.
Leanne loves working with children, ensuring that the paediatric population have the hearing and support to develop speech, language and learning.

Chatu Nelumdeniya: Senior Audiologist MNZAS, MAud (Hons), MSc (Hons), BSc
With years of clinical experience, Chatu has a wide range of expertise; in diagnosis and management of hearing loss across all ages as well as most specialised areas of audiological testing. Chatu’s particular area of interest is Auditory Processing Disorder (APD), helping school-aged children achieve their potential in the classroom and in other areas of life. She is also passionate about the management of tinnitus, working with all ages to create personalised solutions and reducing the troublesome effects of tinnitus.

Melanie Potter: Attended University of Auckland in 2017 and prior to this completed her Bachelor of Science majoring in Physiology. She commenced her audiology career in the private sector working in adult diagnostics and rehabilitation, obtaining her Certificate of Clinical Competence and becoming a full member of the New Zealand Audiological Society. She trained in paediatric audiology at the Evelina Children’s Hospital and worked with children of all ages from different backgrounds, many with complex health issues. Melanie has  also performed outreach work in Niue assessing the ear and hearing health of schoolchildren as part of her thesis and more recently has provided audiological support at a school in Tanzania.

Karen Blackall (Educational Advisor): Karen seeks to ensure that the parents, SENCos, and teachers of Family Hearing Centre’s children have a better understanding of APD and its impacts on learning. She provides advice and guidance on the use of Remote Microphone Hearing Aid (RMHA) systems, the funding eligibility criteria, and the trial process. Karen has held a range of specialised teaching positions, such as Resource Teacher, Learning and Behaviour (RTLB) and Resource Teacher, Deaf (RTD)

We are a Southern Cross Easy Claim provider. We also work with nib and can help you apply for pre-approval.

We have two dedicated patient carparks as you enter the carpark at the rear of the building. 

Access is via King Edward Ave. Off-street parking is also available on King Edward Ave. 

Between 10am to 4pm there is parking directly in front of the clinic on Manukau Road, by the bus stop.
