What is an NGO?

An NGO (Non-government organisation) is a non-profit, independent, community organisation that is not affiliated with central or local government, although they may receive financial and/or other support from the Government.

A cancer NGO employs a wide range of workers that work within the community to provide support to people who have experienced or are experiencing cancer. These services vary widely in what they provide but all aim to assist a person on their journey and to maintain quality of life.
