Hāpai Te Rongoā
ACC-registered Rongoā Māori Service, Kaupapa Māori
Description
Hāpai Te Rongoā is an ACC-registered Rongoā Māori practitioner based in Heretaunga.
Based in a clinic space at Las Palmas Building in Hastings, I offer the traditional healing art of Mirimiri Romiromi. Each session is a one-hour journey towards wellness.
Our Kaupapa Māori Approach: Embracing kaupapa Māori, our mirimiri romiromi services weave together tikanga Māori (customs), mātauranga Māori (knowledge), te reo Māori (language), and te ao Māori (worldview) into a tapestry of holistic healing. We treat more than just physical ailments; we nurture the whole being, aiming to rejuvenate your mana (prestige/power) and mauri (life force). Integral to our sessions are karakia (prayers) and whakawhiti kōrero (dialogues), ensuring a culturally immersive and spiritually enriching experience that concludes with a closing karakia.
Please note, the clinic is not equipped with wheelchair access, and services are provided exclusively at this location.

Haerenga | Your Healing Journey
With the breath of Te Hā, the journey begins.
Romiromi and Mirimiri stir the mauri within,
Guiding your tinana to release what no longer serves,
Opening pathways for Pūngao to flow,
As does two sacred waters, that is Wairua.
Whispers of Karakia drift gently,
Carrying wisdom, protection, and the quiet knowing of your Tūpuna,
Wrapped in Aroha, anchored with sacred divinity.
A sanctuary where Pūmanawa can soften,
Manawa expands with every breath,
and Whatumanawa is open to receive.
This is more than just touch,
This is a Wānanga of Healing,
A sacred weaving of Mind, Body & Spirit
a safe place for your Mana to be restored.
A path ignited by Hinātore—the spark of infinite potential,
calling forth the Atua, so you may walk this life remembering:
He Kākano Ahau, i ruia mai i Rangiātea.
I am the seed, sown from the sacred realms,
Carrying the Power of Healing that is within Me.

Services Provided
ACC Rongoā Māori ACC recognise rongoā Māori as a kaupapa Māori service. It's culturally grounded care that weaves tikanga Māori, mātauranga Māori, te reo Māori, and te ao Māori through all aspects of the service. We respect that these aspects embrace ngā taonga tuku iho (intergenerational gifts and knowledge handed down from tupuna Māori). We see rongoā Māori in the wider context of traditional Māori healing methodologies. ACC don't consider healing techniques from non-Māori cultural traditions, such as reiki or hyperbaric oxygen treatment, part of rongoā Māori. Even if they're provided by rongoā Māori practitioners.
