Description
Raised in Te Urewera, as the mokopuna of Rua Kenana, Whaea Kumeroa Gregory is the Lead Practitioner for Te Urewera Tuku Iho Mai. With a lifetime of matauranga and service to rongoa Māori, clients receive over 75 years of her life's work during each session. A gifted tohunga and expert, she is now taking appointments to help you on your healing journey.
Nana Kumeroa offers culturally grounded rehabilitation for:
- Soft tissue Injuries: Sprains, strains and muscular injuries of the back, neck and limbs
- Physical Injuries: Support for wounds, burns, fractures and dislocations
- Maternal Birth Injuries: Pelvic floor dysfunction, perineal tears, pelvic and lower back pain sustained during labour (restoring the balance and mauri to the whare tangata)
- Sensitive Claims: Trauma Support for Emotional Injury caused by sexual violence: A strictly confidential service to support survivors of sexual abuse with a focus on restoring balance and mauri to the tinana, the hinengaro and the wairua. Please be assured, all sensitive claims are received with the utmost care.

You will need a current ACC Claim from your GP or therapist.
Once your ACC claim is accepted, please contact the ACC Recovery Team on 0800-101-996 or email claims@acc.co.nz and request Rongoa Māori Services.

We respect that these aspects embrace ngā taonga tuku iho (intergenerational gifts and knowledge handed down from tupuna Māori). We see rongoā Māori in the wider context of traditional Māori healing methodologies. ACC don't consider healing techniques from non-Māori cultural traditions, such as reiki or hyperbaric oxygen treatment, part of rongoā Māori. Even if they're provided by rongoā Māori practitioners.
