Auckland Buddhist Centre

Cancer Network Group Service

Description

The Auckland Buddhist Centre is part of a worldwide movement called the Triratna Buddhist Community. At the heart of this community is the Triratna Buddhist Order which was founded over 50 years ago in the United Kingdom by Sangharakshita to bring the ancient wisdom of the Buddha's teachings into the modern world.

We offer a broad program of events and activities for both newcomers and those with some experience. These include meditation and Buddhism courses, open meditation sessions and  Buddhist Recovery Network meetings. We also offer retreats throughout the year.

All are welcome to attend our open Monday night or Tuesday morning intro programme. You don't need to sign up - just arrive for a 7pm start Monday or 10.30am start Tuesday. We also offer group meditations on Saturday mornings at 10am.

We do offer options for those within our community who wish to commit more deeply to their Buddhist practice as well.

Staff

The Auckland Buddhist Centre is run by members of the Triratna Buddhist Order and those training for ordination. Many of us have years of practical meditation experience, both in terms of personal practise and successful teaching. Straightforward, contemporary, effective and accessible meditation instruction is something we aim for.
