Cancer Network Group Service

Today

Description

Our team can support you and your whānau as you come to terms with your diagnosis and the impact it may have on your day-to-day life, now and in the future.

We work alongside other health professionals, including the Villa 6 team oncologists and nurses, as well as with the Cancer Society, Hospice, and other hospital and community agencies.

We have a Clinical Psychologist, registered Social Workers and an Equity Navigator on our team.

Our Kaiora Hinengaro/Psychologist can help you with:

  • managing with stress and building resilience
  • coping with physical symptoms like pain, discomfort and fatigue
  • managing fears, depression, anxiety, anger
  • improving relationship skills and support networks
  • managing the demands of home and family life while caring for yourself
  • coping with adjustment, change and loss
  • coping with how cancer affects self-esteem and sense of self
  • coping with how cancer affects your sexual functioning

Our Kaimana Taurite/Equity Navigator can support you to:

  • navigate within the district health board to facilitate early intervention on your journey
  • enable access to services and advocate for you and your whānau
