Description
Every week in New Zealand, three families are told the heartbreaking news that their child has cancer. None of them ever thought it would happen to their child. All of them experience the devastating impact of diagnosis while life as they know it is put on hold.
Cancer doesn’t care about these children or their families. Child Cancer Foundation does.
We are a New Zealand charity that provides one-to-one support to children and families on their cancer journey, starting with each family being assigned a Family Support Coordinator to help them see the way through.
We are with them every step of the way, helping them overcome challenges and maintain control of their lives.
We focus on the whānau, not the cancer. No two families’ experiences are the same, and neither is the nature of the support they need.
One thing is always the same: we support every family so they can concentrate on the most important thing of all, loving and caring for their child.
We don't receive any government funding, so these families rely on the generosity of everyday Kiwis to receive the vital support they need.
