Description
We focus on Support & Counselling for 60PLUS Super Senior Citizens, of whom, we believe are extremely under-resourced. Many people are socially isolated, lonely for various reasons or living with anxiety, depression, grief and loss or other life-cycle issues. We believe they are often forgotten about in society, or ignored. Therefore, we are willing to travel within Papakura & the Franklin area, to offer various Support, Advocacy and Counselling services within hospital, rest home and private home locations for the 60PLUS age group, their carers and anyone disabled or living in a confined way.
We practice Rogerian, client-centred counselling and focus on exploring a client's stories, their own awareness and options, to encourage self empowerment, solutions - or acceptance. We may also incorporate experiential/externalising techniques to encourage deeper issues to surface and to enhance self-awareness and encourage integration. We have also trained with Metaphors, Dreams, Sandplay & Arts Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. Primarily, we believe in the importance of a respectful, confidential client/counsellor relationship being genuine, with an atmosphere of privacy and trust.
