Our services are delivered by a diverse team, made up of a wide range of health professionals, support staff, and volunteers who work together to provide individual care for you and your family and whānau.
Arohanui Hospice is based at 1 Heretaunga Street, Palmerston North, from where we deliver inpatient and community care, and support services.
We provide services for all people in the Manawatū district, Palmerston North city, Horowhenua district, including Ōtaki, Tararua district and Rangitīkei district including Bulls, Marton, Hunterville, Taihape and surrounding areas.

Palliative care is an approach that improves the quality of life for patients and their families/whānau who are facing the problems associated with a life-limiting illness, both through the prevention and relief of suffering by means of early identification, and impeccable assessment and treatment of pain and other problems, physical, psychological and spiritual (Sepulveda et al. 2002).

We provide the following services:
• Specialist registered nurses and specialist registered social workers, who monitor and support you at home
• Specialist medical care in collaboration with your GP and/or consultant
• 24-hour telephone access for support and advice
• Short-term inpatient care at the hospice, provided by our wide range of health professionals (known as a multi-disciplinary team, including specialist registered nurses, family support team, pharmacists and medical staff)
• Medical specialist and nurse/social work-led outpatient clinics
• Medication management support and information from our pharmacists
• Spiritual care support for you and your family/whānau
• Access to personal and practical support through our family support team
• Grief and loss support, during illness and after death
