About Brain Injury Waikato
Brain Injury Waikato is a non-clinical community service supporting people affected by brain injury and their whānau. We provide guidance, education, and practical support to help individuals understand their situation and connect with the services best suited to their needs.
While we do not provide medical treatment, rehabilitation, or advocacy, we play an important role in helping people navigate what can often feel like a complex and overwhelming system. We can connect you with appropriate health professionals, rehabilitation providers, community services, and advocacy organisations.
Our services include:
- One-on-one support to help identify needs and next steps
- Education about brain injury and recovery
- Support groups that foster connection and shared experiences
- Access to a range of helpful resources and information
- Referrals to trusted local services and providers
We take a whānau-centred approach, recognising that brain injury affects not just the individual, but those around them. Our goal is to ensure people feel informed, supported, and connected at every stage of their journey.
Brain Injury Waikato also provides services across the wider region, including Rotorua.
