All vaccination provided by the mobile vaccination service are free.
The flu jab is also free for those most at risk of severe illness.
- Māori and Pacific peoples aged 55 to 64 years
- Everyone 65 years and older
- People who have a long-term medical condition like diabetes, asthma or a heart condition (ages 6months+)
- Pregnant women (any trimester)
- Children 4 years old or younger who have been hospitalised with respiratory illness such as asthma

If you are not eligible for a free influenza vaccine, you can still get one through your local pharmacy or GP for a small cost.
COVID-19 Vaccine: Boosters
The Bivalent Pfizer vaccine has replaced the existing Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine for boosters.
If you have had COVID-19 it's recommended you'll need to wait 6 months after testing positive before getting any booster.
Booster update - 1 April 2023
From 1 April 2023, regardless of how many boosters you have had, you can get an additional booster if you are:
- Aged 30 and over
- At higher risk of severe illness from COVID-19
Boosters are especially recommended for:
- All people over 65 years old
- Māori and Pacific people aged 50 and over
- People at risk of severe ilness if they get COVID-19
- People living in aged residential care facilities
To get a booster:
- You must have had at least your first 2 COVID-19 vaccinations
- It must have been at least 6 months since your last COVID-19 vaccine
- It's recommended you wait at least 6 months if you have had a COVID-19 infection

These pharmacies have staff that are trained and authorised to give vaccines.
