HealthWEST Limited is a Non Government Organisation (NGO) providing free, innovative community and primary health, social and whānau ora services with a particular focus on Māori, Pacific, tamariki, rangatahi, whānau and other high needs populations.

Services Provided

Noho Ahuru

Noho Ahuru is a free service which aims to support families to have warmer, drier and healthier homes. One of our team will visit the family in their home and identify any changes that could be done to make it warmer and drier. They are able to provide support and work alongside the family until the whole process is completed. Noho Ahuru may be able to assist with: Insulation, ventilation, WINZ entitlements, emergency grants, budgeting services, curtains, bedding, heating, minor repairs etc. Call us to see if you meet the criteria 021 805 745

The Youth Health Hub provides a range of free health services across the Waitemata District Health Board area: Engagement - youth workers are available to engage young people through mentoring, support and other activities. Health Clinics - a team (nurses, nurse practitioners) supporting young people mainly aged 12-24 yrs and their families to manage their complex health problems. Choices to Wellbeing - a programme supporting young people aged 12-24 years, with mild to moderate mental health issues, through individual or group activities including counselling, mentoring, creative self expression. Young Dads - a parenting programme for fathers aged 24 and under. Self referral and referrals from general practice, Waitakere Youth Health Clinic, schools and other health and social providers. School Based Health Services - General Practitioner support (working alongside school nurses) to seven secondary schools – Kelston Boys, Kelston Girls, Waitakere College, Henderson High, Massey High, Kaipara College and Rodney College. A nursing service is available to support students in Alternative Education Schools & Kura Kaupapa - Marist, Te Ukaipo, He Wero (TPU), Hoani Waititi, Impact/Out West Youth, Bays Youth Community Trust, SENZ, Vision West & Achievement Centre Massey. School Based Health Services (SBHS)

Health Clinics set up in schools supported by Nurses and General Practitioners (doctors) allowing students to access healthcare whilst at school. This includes things such as health promotion and education, injury management, sexual health needs such as contraception and sexual health check ups, mental health support, assistance with social issues. The clinics within these schools cover a variety of aspects of health care and are able to make appropriate referrals if needed. Get in contact with your school nurse today for a chat! These schools include: Kelston Boys High School Kelston Girls College Waitakere College Henderson High School Massey High School Kaipara College Rodney College Te Kura Kaupapa Māori o Hoani Waititi There is also a nursing service that covers Alternative Education Centres in North & West Auckland. Pacific Cancer Navigation

A service to help Pacific people (and their families) with cancer to ensures they receive the best care and support through this difficult journey. Referrals can be made through GP practices (your doctor).

Long Acting Reversible Contraception (LARC)

LARC methods are very effective at preventing unplanned pregnancy and are “fit and forget” forms of contraception – you don’t need to remember them every day or every month. LARC methods: Intrauterine Contraceptive Devices (IUCD or IUD) are inserted through the cervix into a woman’s uterus. IUCDs may be either hormonal (Mirena® or Jaydess® ) or non-hormonal (copper IUCD). Jadelle® is a hormone-releasing implant that is inserted just under the skin of the upper arm. Depending on the type of device, it will need to be changed after between three and ten years. Read more about LARC methods here
