Hokio Life are ACC registered Rongoā Māori practitioners based in Glenview, Hamilton.
We support our Kaitiaki and their ACC claims for Rongoā Māori and Maternal Birth Injuries.
Our ACC Rongoā Māori services can include:
Romiromi / Mirimiri - Romiromi/Mirimiri involves bodywork manipulation techniques aimed at alleviating discomfort, making it beneficial for our whānau dealing with persistent injuries, aches, or sprains. Emphasizing the importance of aftercare, we typically provide this information after your initial session.
Komiri (vibrational & energy shifting) - Komiri involves the use of vibrational energy to shift discomfort within one's own tinana or hinengaro.
Counselling Support - We provide clinical & cultural counselling support services for our whānau.
We've dedicated ourselves to serving the well-being of our extended family, our whānau, within the community. While our roots are firmly in the Waikato region, our commitment extends across the Auckland Region, and our reach has taken us as far as Ōtaki to Ahipara.
Hokio Therapy NZ Ltd
Hokio Therapy NZ also provides EAP Counselling, Hapūtanga (pregnancy) services and Clinical and Cultural Supervision to staff.

Robyn Pomare - ACC Registered Rongoā Māori Practitioner
I've been honored to collaborate with esteemed individuals like Papa Hohepa Delamere and Manu Korewha. I recall a particular instance during year 2000 when they reached out to me at an unconventional hour, around 3 am, while parked outside my home. They needed a third companion for a significant endeavor down the road. It's memories like these that remind me of the profound connections and shared purpose that bind us.

Services Provided
ACC Rongoā Māori ACC recognise rongoā Māori as a kaupapa Māori service. It's culturally grounded care that weaves tikanga Māori, mātauranga Māori, te reo Māori, and te ao Māori through all aspects of the service. We respect that these aspects embrace ngā taonga tuku iho (intergenerational gifts and knowledge handed down from tupuna Māori). We see rongoā Māori in the wider context of traditional Māori healing methodologies. ACC don't consider healing techniques from non-Māori cultural traditions, such as reiki or hyperbaric oxygen treatment, part of rongoā Māori. Even if they're provided by rongoā Māori practitioners.
