The dedicated whare in Wairoa provides a safe, welcoming home like space, staffed during business hours and equipped with home safety devices for tamariki. Mene Mai Ano is our dental service where it provides essential, low cost oral health care for whanau across Wairoa. As the demand is high, with strong enrolments and repeat visits reflecting the trust placed in this community based service. But if whanau require more complex treatments due to ongoing health challenges and delayed access, we ask they make alternative arrangements.

Our Social Services have three services under their wing. These are: Strengthening Families A structured, early intervention, whanau centre process to have coordinated access to services with community organisations, social services and government agencies. Family Wellbeing/Oranga o Nga Whanau Addresses whanau needs, focusing on help navigating challenges of wellbeing. Social Workers in Schools This service supports vulnerable children and their whanau with the service available to Tiaho Primary, Wairoa Primary, Te Kura Kaupapa Maori o Ngati Kahungunu ki te Wairoa and Wairoa College.
