Description
Te Taiwhenua o Heretaunga is a family-focussed organisation providing health, housing, education and social services in Hawke's Bay. We help individuals, whānau and communities by creating holistic, personalised plans of care, support and development. We use traditional kaupapa Māori values and culture, involving the hinengaro (mind), tinana (body), wairua (spirit) and whānau (social) aspects of our lives.
Our General Practice offers high-quality, low-cost medical, dental care, and an on-site pharmacy for your convenience and our books are open for enrolments.

Whaiora must have a keyworker/community treating team and be open to engaging with a Community Treating Team to provide clinical monitoring and follow up.
Tangata Whaiora must NOT:
- be actively suicidal or at high risk of self-harm
- actively demonstrate high risk of aggressive/violent behaviour
- require acute admission

Well Child Tamariki Ora is a programme of FREE regular health checks specially designed to ensure baby is growing healthily and developing all the normal skills for their age is on offer from birth to four years. Our awesome team of Tamariki Ora nurses and Kaiawhina will visit you at home with the option of a clinic visit if preferred.

Whanaungatanga Collaborating with rest homes and our own Whare Ahurutanga to deliver on-site education, fostering a safe and supportive environment. Engaging with the wider community through expos and outreach events, spreading awareness and providing valuable information. Kotahitanga Offering a drop-in support group every Friday at Whanake Te Kura in Flaxmere, offering a safe space for kaumātua to connect and share experiences. Kaitiakitanga Staying up-to-date on preventing elder abuse and sharing knowledge within our organisation and the wider community, ensuring everyone is informed and safe.
