Description

Te Taiwhenua o Heretaunga is a family-focussed organisation providing health, housing, education and social services in Hawkes Bay. We help individuals, whānau and communities by creating holistic, personalised plans of care, support and development. We use traditional Kaupapa Māori values and culture, involving the mind (oranga hinengaro), tinana (body), wairua (spirit) and whānau (social) aspects of our lives. 

Our General Practice offers high-quality, low-cost medical, dental care, and an on-site pharmacy for your convenience.

Oranga Hinengaro (Wellbeing of the Mind)

Our teams of qualified professional staff work holistically with whānau, to help them work toward wellbeing. This can include clinic care, Te Puawaitanga day programme, community support, addiction therapies, behaviour therapies, counselling, residential care, Waiorua – short-stay time out, to rest and re-focus, and/or longer-term residential. Our Hiwa-i-te-rangi team are also here for whānau and individuals that may need extra support to work through one or two small humps in life that have become overwhelming and may seem too difficult to deal with right now on their own.

Well Child Tamariki Ora

Well Child Tamariki Ora is a programme of FREE regular health checks specially designed to ensure baby is growing healthily and developing all the normal skills for their age is on offer from birth to four years. Our awesome team of Tamariki Ora nurses and Kaiawhina will visit you at home with the option of a clinic visit if preferred.

Community nursing

Te Oranga Tautiaki - Supreme Care (In-home manaaki) We offer in-home care packages tailored to the needs of the individual in Wairoa, Napier, Waimarama and across Central Hawke’s Bay. Our range of clients include older people, disability, ACC (long and short term). We specialise in: personal care, palliative care, home management, daily living support, medical, disability or accident, short-term or long-term.

Family Start can help you get on with life and give your tamariki the best start. Our goal is to equip you with all the skills to keep your family together and grow strong. Also talk to the Family Start team about: Poipoia Te Mokopuna - which can prepare you and your baby for pre-school. Te Whare Karamu – an award-winning residential programme for teen parents. Learn how to care for baby, engage in education, training or employment, and prepare for independent living.

Family Start can help you get on with life and give your tamariki the best start. Our goal is to equip you with all the skills to keep your family together and grow strong.

Our Whānau Ora Kaiarahi will walk alongside whānau who may need help in determining what success means to them. By offering support and assisting with pathways to develop their own solutions, our dedicated Whānau Ora Kaiarahi will help whānau to work towards self-determination, success and strengthening of the whānau unit.
