Wai ū Tairāwhiti is a service run by very experienced lactation consultants in the Tūranganui-a-Kiwa/ Gisborne region.
If you are having trouble with breastfeeding and feel that you require lactation consultant support please talk to your Midwife, Well Child/ Tamariki Ora Provider or your GP to discuss a referral to our services.

Janet McGuinness - a registered midwife since 2004 & Lactation Consultant since 2010, having worked in Aotearoa & abroad in Ireland has had over 20 years experience helping new mums and babies achieve thier breastfeeding goals.

A limited free service funded by Tairāwhiti Health New Zealand is provided for women referred to us by their midwife, Well Child Provider or other health professional.
Fees and Charges Description
There is no charge for the service if you are referred to us by a health professional.
