Description
At Taranaki Women’s Refuge we provide the support and information you will need when you are dealing with domestic violence in your life.
We believe that all women and children have the fundamental right to live free from fear and violence.
If you are living in fear in your relationship or in your family, or know someone who is, there are so many ways we can help you right now. We provide a non-judgemental space in which to share experiences, feelings and possibilities with qualified social workers.
When a woman’s safety is at risk we provide crisis intervention and/or a safe place in our confidential Safe House. Criteria applies.
Most women who make use of our services are able to remain in their own homes. We provide them with information and support to make the changes that will enable them to live violence-free lives.
We also provide one-on-one and group (number dependent) Education and Support Programmes.
Whatever choices women make, their decisions are respected and they are assured of our ongoing support. Our services are confidential and free.
