The Road Forward provides free assistance and peer support services to adult victims/survivors of sexual harm, historic or recent, in a confidential, safe and supportive environment. Peer support works well when combined with therapy or counselling, empowering survivors to take back control of their lives. Services offered include:
- One-to-one telephone support.
- Peer support to sexual harm survivors led by trained Peer Workers.
- Individual and group peer support.
- Support, information and resources for wives/partners and whānau enabling them to better support their male survivors.
- Advocacy and support.
- Referrals to other agencies as appropriate, ACC counsellors and provide support with Police disclosures.
- Weekly wellbeing groups.
- Educational programmes to assist with new skills.
- Social Group to assist with breaking the isolation.
