Are You OK – a free family violence helpline available 24/7 nationwide
The Are You OK helpline is a safe way for people experiencing violence and their supporters to find information and support.
Our helpline is run by trained counsellors who can:
- Provide information and support for family violence
- Help with safety planning for you and your family
- Connect you to support services in your area
- Provide self-help and self-referral information
- Give you advice on how to help others if you’re concerned for their safety.
What is Family violence?
Family violence can mean any physical, sexual or psychological abuse within close personal relationships.
It’s important to be able to able to identify if something isn’t right within your relationships and know where to seek support. Any kind of behaviour that makes you feel unsafe or hurts you is not ok.
