Āwhina House operates under He Kaupapa Kotahitanga Trust, Tauranga, as a charitable organisation providing transitional housing support for women experiencing homelessness.
Āwhina House is not an emergency night shelter. Our service is designed to support women over a period of time to create sustainable, long-term change in their lives.
We are committed to:
- Supporting women to break the cycle of homelessness
- Providing structured support that fosters independence and stability
- Assisting residents to transition into appropriate long-term housing
- Encouraging personal development, goal setting, and wellbeing
Service Scope
- Āwhina House provides accommodation and support for women only
- We are not able to accommodate children within the residence
- Applicants must be suitable for shared living in a structured environment
