Description

Communicare is a not-for-profit association which has been serving seniors and the isolated, lonely and disabled within Auckland since 1959.  We run Friendship Centres around Auckland, serving more than 500 members weekly with the assistance of over 250 volunteers and a small team of part-time staff.

Volunteer Helpers
Communicare depends on volunteer helpers for the running of our Friendship Centres. Do you have some time to give to helping others? If so, Be Involved.

A coordinator runs the centre alongside a group of volunteers.

Fees and Charges Description

First visit is free.
Annual membership $30 which allows you to visit any centre
$6 door cover cost at venue
Extra costs may occur for raffles and trading tables at some centres
Outings are extra

If you are unable to afford this do not be put off.  Talk to the staff

Friendship Centres The Friendship Centres are each open on one day a week, except during school holidays. Centre Coordinators ensure members enjoy various activities, suited to their interests and abilities. This may include crafts, cards, indoor bowls and music, all in a relaxed, friendly environment. Members also enjoy outings. Morning tea and lunch are served at a minimal weekly cost. Most Friendship Centres are open between 9.30am - 1.00pm on one day per week.
