Description

At Jubilee, our focus is simple: to restore hope and empower people to move forward with confidence. We support individuals and whānau to dream again, set meaningful goals, recognise their potential, and make positive changes for their future. A key part of our work is helping people break free from the “poverty mentality” that can limit opportunities and wellbeing.

Jubilee Budget Advisory Service has been providing free, confidential budgeting support and education across Southland since 1989. Our service is centred on building financial capability and long-term resilience.

We offer one-on-one financial mentoring, ongoing budgeting support, and tailored education sessions for groups or community organisations.

Our trained and experienced Financial Mentors take the time to understand each person’s unique story, circumstances, and level of financial literacy. We work alongside clients to stabilise immediate pressures, develop practical financial plans, and support long-term growth.

Our approach is holistic. We walk alongside whānau, connect with other support services, and empower people to make informed decisions, set achievable goals, and build lasting financial confidence.

In 2021, we expanded our services to also include SuperSkills Jubilee.

SuperSkills Jubilee supports people to grow confidence, resilience, and practical life skills through kaitiaki mentoring — the sharing of generational wisdom in a welcoming, supportive environment.

Courses and sessions may include practical household skills such as cooking, meal planning, and home routines, along with personal organisation and goal-setting. Participants also build communication and relationship confidence, strengthen problem-solving and decision-making skills, and learn ways to manage stress and build resilience.

Participants learn in a supportive, inclusive environment, gaining skills and confidence they can apply in everyday life, work, and relationships.

Our head office for Budgeting and Lifeskills is based in Invercargill, with additional budgeting appointments also available in Gore, Riverton, and Te Anau.
