We’ve been supporting Kiwis with information and resources to help identify and manage diabetes symptoms for more than 50 years. Our mission is for all people living in New Zealand who are affected by, or at risk of, diabetes have access to the appropriate tools, information and support essential for their health and wellbeing.

There are no specific charges for our service however we do appreciate a donation.

Information & support

Support: Diabetes NZ Waikato sells various products to assist with self-managing diabetes: blood glucose testers and lancets, glucose sweets for hypoglycaemia (low blood sugars), diabetes cookbooks and socks. Members receive 10% discount. To purchase products, you can contact us on 07-853-9854 or diabetesw@xtra.co.nz Self Management: We know there are times you need to talk through things, ask questions or need a little extra time for things to be explained. We offer confidential and private one-on-one consultations with our Field Officer either via phone or face to face. To request confidential one-on-one support, you can contact us on 07-853-9854 or diabetesw@xtra.co.nz Support Groups/Activities: Diabetes Youth Waikato aims to offer support to those under the age of 25 and their family/whanau living with diabetes. We are part of Diabetes NZ Waikato Branch and have a separate committee dedicated solely to youth activities so that they are never alone in their journey, helping to raise awareness; not just around the education about Type 1 to the public, but for children and young people with Type 1 diabetes.
