Tenei te mihi ki a koutou e te whānau.
When I started this journey 30 plus years ago, I was incredibly lucky to have had such amazing tohunga as my teachers that took me under their wings and showed me many possibilities, how to be a humble person and yet skilled in the art of rongoā māori, tikanga, and kawa o Taranaki. I had the privilege to learn from many healers not only here in Taranaki but from around Aotearoa. Which enabled me to became a better person, I went on to learn how to walk comfortably in 2 worlds (Māori & Pākehā), gaining many qualifications in Health, Wellness, Beauty and alternative therapeutic modalities. I have done the complete cycle, now I am the teacher of the old ways in an ever-changing society where the old ways of healing are returning. I am incredibly proud to be the owner and founder of Mihi’s Place and leading a small humble team of caring skilled professionals who are dedicated to enhancing the wellbeing of all those that choose to use Mihi’s Place.
Nga mihi mahana ki a koutou Mihi Henry-Hatcher.
Kia ora everyone, my name is Hannah and I work alongside Mihi at Mihi’s Place. I started my journey in the massage realm as a means of rediscovering myself and implementing my true passion, enhancing a person’s mana. I am a young mum of two, so I understand the importance of oneself feeling comfortable, confident, and competent in their own skin. Through this journey, it has become clear to me that traditional Māori massage, healing and helping people feel better about themselves is where I am truly passionate, along with implementing the use of Rongōa, natural medicine. I love being able to see the difference in clients from the time they walk into the healing rooms, to the time they’re ready to leave the clinic, the growth is very rewarding. I believe that catering to each client’s individual needs and desires in a session is paramount, this ensures they receive the most beneficial treatment for themselves. My long-term goal is to continue furthering my skills and knowledge in a range of massage therapies.
