Everyone in New Zealand, aged 5 and over is eligible for their free COVID-19 vaccine. If you have had COVID-19, you should wait 3 months after testing positive before getting any COVID-19 vaccination.

Aged 5-11 years

Walk-ins are available for tamariki aged between 5-11 years. You can also book an appointment at a time that suits via the Book My Vaccine website website.

Boosters

The Pfizer vaccine is the primary vaccine being used in New Zealand for booster doses, even if you had a different vaccine for your earlier doses.

Aged 18 and over

Everyone in New Zealand, aged 18 and over who completed their primary COVID-19 vaccination course at least three months ago, is eligible for the COVID-19 Pfizer booster.

16 and 17 year olds

Rangatahi aged 16 or 17 can also get a booster six months after completing their primary vaccination course.

AstraZeneca vaccine

The AstraZeneca vaccine is only available at the Blenheim and Richmond Vaccination Centres. It is available by appointment only through the Book My Vaccine website. 

Novavax Vaccine

The Novavax vaccine is only available at the Blenheim and Richmond Vaccination Centres. 

Blenheim available on Wednesdays and Fridays only.  Richmond available every day the centre is open.

You can book your appointments for both centres via the Book My Vaccine website. Walk ins are available subject to availability of the vaccine on the day.

How to find the Nelson Vaccination Centre at 54 Montgomery Square

The entrance is located on the side street that connects the Montgomery Square carpark with Bridge Street. Entering the carpark from Bridge Street, the vaccination centre will be located on your right as you enter.
