Description

Neuro Connection Foundation is a small but mighty non-profit. Established 30 years ago, NCF provides long term ongoing rehabilitation services for adults with conditions such as Stroke, Parkinson’s Disease, Multiple Sclerosis, Acquired Brain Injury, Cerebral Palsy and other neurological conditions.

We are the only provider in the Auckland region specialising in long term rehabilitation of neurological conditions for adults using the internationally renowned Conductive Education (CE) approach.

This is done in a supervised group setting, where clients are safe and supported by Senior Rehabilitation Specialists and Rehabilitation Assistants whilst performing gentle specialised exercises & range of movements.

This type of therapy helps re-wire the brain and the repetitive nature of the exercises that we facilitate help restore function to affected parts of the body, building strength and helping regain not just mobility but also confidence and independence.

Our customised small group sessions provide a positive, supportive, active, motivating environment in which each individual is empowered to achieve their highest level of independence physically, emotionally and socially.  Our rehabilitation has seen client improvements in strength, motor skills, balance, co-ordination, communication and social well-being.

Private sessions are also available pending schedule availability.

Our services operate out of our purpose built facility in peaceful Tui Glen Reserve, Henderson.  Our catchment area is Auckland wide.

Staff

We have a small team of passionate staff based at the centre in Tui Glen Park, Henderson in West Auckland

Our two Senior Rehabilitation Specialists, Inna Chochina and Nora Keczan were professionally trained from the Peta Institute, Hungary. They run group classes and one on one sessions that focus on teaching each client movement patterns to control and undertake everyday tasks. Their qualifications, expertise and experience cannot be replicated. Inna has been with the Foundation for 22 years & Nora 17 years.

We have 3 Part Time Rehabilitation Assistants, Soyoung Lee, Danielle Ka & Robyn Cubitt. They support our clients that are more physically disabled, and are paralysed or otherwise compromised from Stroke and other underlying conditions. Many of our clients need assistance walking and along with walking aids, they ensure that they remain safe and supported whilst participating in their rehabilitation.

Colleen Lewis is our Part Time Administrator/Fundraiser. She has a varied role, handling all administrative functions, marketing support, fundraising & client events as well as strongly supporting our Manager & Clinical team.

Ola Ioane, our General Manager, is busy putting the building blocks in place to make the Foundation both financially and operationally sustainable for the long term. He enjoys collaborating with other NGOs and is incredibly passionate about advocating for our fabulous clients.

We’re a tight knit team, and our drive to support & empower our vulnerable clients to lead more independent lives, underpins everything that we do.
