We are focused on providing in-home care for people who require a bit of support. Our main focus is on a responsive care model which enables people to maintain and grow their own independence so they can have full and prosperous lives.

Our team of Kaiawhina (support workers) develop close relationships with our clients and provide a range of services as part of in-home support. We are here to do what we can to make our clients' lives happier and easier. We also provide support for clients post-surgery and we help people in-home for end of life care.

Mauri Ora:  The underlying principles of the Mauri Ora project are to work towards a healthy thriving iwi in Tauranga Moana, for whānau to leave a legacy of good health for their children and mokopuna, and to consider the whakatauāki – Kia Tu te Mana o Ranginui as an affirmation of living a health conscious lifestyle.  

Wahine Ora, Tāne Ora, Tamariki Ora, Rangatahi Ora, Kaumātua and Marae Wānanga are the six fundamental areas that encompass Mauri Ora.

Lifestyle programmes have included Māori fitness programme PATU Aotearoa, marae assistance to establish Maara Kai (vege and herb gardens), and men’s health programmes.  Nutritional kaupapa will include looking at traditional kai gathering methods.

To enable our people to live their best lives, the Social and Community Development team are focused on working from a whānau-ora based approach to working with individuals and their whānau to build capability, support strong families and create inter-generational strength and resilience amongst our whānau. 

​Our passionate and qualified social work team provide support and navigation for whānau to access information, services and resources so their pepi, tamariki & rangatahi have opportunities to thrive in a safe and nurturing environment.

We provide youth justice mentoring programmes for youth offenders and youth at-risk programmes including holiday programmes for at-risk youth.

The role of the Whakapapa Navigator is to reconnect whānau back to themselves, whānau and community through geneaology.

Education is a critical tool and is instrumental in our tribal growth, development and community transformation. We aim to foster an attitude of life-long learning from an early age that will open a world of opportunity for us as whānau, hapū and iwi. Education is a critical tool for our ongoing tribal development. We are building capability and capacity for Ngāti Ranginui, for Tauranga Moana, Aotearoa and beyond!

Our mahi in this space has enabled us to work in a number of schools across Tauranga which include Otūmoetai College, Tauranga Boys and Girls College, Te Wharekura o Mauao, Katikati College and Tauranga Intermediate School.

• We provide care and protection mentoring, recruitment and support for caregivers of children in care and whānau support social work.

  - For Tamariki and Rangatahi under a Protection Order
  - 10 week group programme facilitated via groups/individual or whānau clusters.
• Non-violence programmes for tāne are court mandated.

Adult Non-Violence Programmes - our Kaupapa Māori Adults Non-Violence programme (16 weeks group/10 week individual) is designed for both Māori and non-Māori whose lives have been impacted by the use of violence. 

To access this programme is via Ministry of Justice family court or Department of Corrections referral.

Peer Support Advocacy - providing lived experience and support for individuals and whānau recovering from mental health and/or addiction, aged 10-65+ years of age.
