Fia Ola - “living longer happily”
Pacific Homecare drop-in centre
Pacific Homecare offers an ethnic-specific drop-in centre service at the Papatoetoe offices. Called “Fia Ola” the name means “living longer happily”. Pacific Homecare’s Tauaaletoa Malaetele (Taua) coordinates the programme along with the help of Pacific Homecare Navigators.
The programme aims to allow those over 65 to socialise within their own communities, reducing the risk of social isolation and loss of independence.
