Description

South Kaipara Men's Trust provides community services which are directed towards the needs of men, young men and their families in the South Kaipara areas.

The Trust supports men to be effective leaders within their families so that their relationships, families and communities may also be healthy and enriching.

There are no charges for accessing help from the Trust.

Services Provided

Counselling

Counselling We provide referrals (and financial support on a case-by-case basis to help pay for the counselling) for men, young men and their families who are seeking to make changes in their lives with the support of a counsellor. Where appropriate we make referrals to experienced professionals. We also provide a free, confidential and non-judgmental "listening ear" at the drop-in centre on Mondays and Tuesdays.

Literacy We are supportive of men and families who wish to receive literacy support. Where men are required, for instance, to complete forms for government agencies such as WINZ, we will help so that families do not have their rights to receiving a benefit removed. We actively support the Helensville Literacy Volunteer organisation as part of the Trust, providing free one-on-one tailored programs to help reading, writing, comprehension and confident speaking.
