Services Provided

Wellness / healthy lifestyle

  • Healthy eating
  • Smoking cessation (Stop smoking)

Taranaki Stop Smoking Service: The Taranaki Stop Smoking Service is delivered by qualified Quit Coaches providing group programmes, clinics or one-on-one support. The service is free, confidential, and we can come to you at any time - wherever you are. We know quitting is tough and group programmes enable you to give up alongside family, friends, or work colleagues. Chances are, if those around you are determined o break the habit, you will be too. The programme includes weekly support and on enrolment we can provide free patches, lozenges and gum, as well as advice on vaping.

Referrals
The Smoking Cessation Referral pathway is simple. People are referred via best practice (GPs), a smoking cessation form (Te Whatu Ora / TDHB), or TSSS referral form (all other referrers including self-referrals).

Nutrition and Physical Activity: This programme is designed to provide communities, groups and whānau across Taranaki with opportunities to improve regular physical activity and increase knowledge of healthy eating. We provide education sessions, policy development and physical activity programmes such as Fit4Life. We work with other services on new initiatives in response to requests from the community. Please get in touch for more information.
