Dr Nitin Raniga is a registered Orthodontic specialist and a full member of New Zealand Association of Orthodontists (NZAO). Born in Fiji, Nitin relocated to NZ in 1994 and since lived in Auckland. He completed the Bachelor of Dental Surgery at the University of Otago and graduated with credit in 2000. Nitin worked as a general dentist from 2001-2006 before returning to Otago in 2007 to undertake the specialist Doctorate program in Orthodontics. His main research involved analysing bite irregularities and tongue pressure generation during swallowing.
To attain international recognition of highest standards, Nitin successfully completed the prestigious orthodontic membership examinations from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons. Nitin is also a member of the New Zealand Dental Association and Auckland Dental Association.
Nitin practices his profession in a friendly, caring atmosphere while committed to excellence in the treatment of patients to create beautiful smiles and exceptional functional bites.
In his spare time, Nitin enjoys playing sports like soccer, tennis and squash. Nitin is happy to answer any questions you may have about you or your child’s orthodontic treatment.

Nitin completed his BDS (with Credit) from the University of Otago in 2000. Nitin is originally from Fiji and migrated to NZ in 1994 and since lived in Auckland. After graduation, he returned to Auckland to work in private practice from 2001-2006. He sat the primary examinations for the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons (RACDS) in 2003. He returned to Otago this year to study the doctorate program in orthodontics. His main research area involves looking at intraoral pressures and swallowing.
In his spare time, Nitin enjoys playing sports like soccer, tennis and squash.
