TMP Stevens Dental Surgery is a practice founded on the principles of providing the best patient care in comfortable and relaxed modern facilities.
Our heritage in Papakura goes back to the 1940’s! Doug Johnston originally established the practice in the Stanley Building on Great South Road. Dr Don Miller joined Doug and continued to build the practice reputation when he took over in 1956. Dr Trevor Stevens joined Don to grow the practice, eventually taking over the running of the business in 1990. The practice eventually relocated to its present Wood Street location in 1998.
One consistent principle that has defined the practice throughout our history is the quality of care our patients receive. This tradition continues with Dr Zina Ali who joined the practice in 2005. She has continued to develop the practice and improve patient care by introducing modern digital technology. Zina has also introduced orthodontic treatment to children and adolescents which she provides with enthusiasm and passion to fullfil the needs of all family members.
Zina took over the practice leadership in 2009, and although still supported by Dr Trevor Stevens, is defining a new chapter for this practice in Papakura.

What is a General Dentist?
A general dentist is involved in all aspects of dental care and they will refer patients to a specialist dentist for procedures and treatments that are outside of their scope. They educate patients to maintain healthy teeth and gums and diagnose and treat problems of the teeth, gums and mouth. A general dentist performs the majority of dental procedures such as tooth extractions, fillings, creating crowns, bridges and dentures, root canals, teeth whitening, minor orthodontic and minor periodontic work.
