Profile

Aidan joined the practice in 2013, and hasn’t looked back. He enjoys working with the people of Kawerau trying to achieve the best care for all, and his cheery manner hopes to put all at ease.
Aidan trained in Scotland, with postgraduate training in England (MRCGP 2011), Scotland and New Zealand. After completing training and working overseas including time in India and Tanzania, he decided that Kawerau was the place to be.
Through training Aidan took in rotations through Medicine for Elderly, Orthopaedics and Trauma, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Accident and Emergency, Psychiatry, General Medicine, Rheumatology, Neurology and General Surgery.
Aidan has completed the DFSRH (Diploma in Faculty of Sexual and Reproductive Health UK) and has completed minor surgery in general practice courses arranged through RCGP.
Aidan worked in Taranaki in general practice and at the base hospital. He completed his Fellowship of the Royal New Zealand College of General Practitioners in 2014.
Aidan is settled with his wife and 2 children, and maintains an active interest in horticulture, attempts to catch fish whilst standing in the water or on the beach, tramping and the outdoors.
