Derek is an experienced ophthalmologist with a special interest in Paediatric ophthalmology and strabismus. He has worked in Nelson in both public and private since 1996. He currently works alongside Mary-Jane McPhie Orthoptist at Nelson Eye Surgeons to provide the following subspecialty services:

• Paediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus assessment and surgery
• Ocular Motility and Strabismus assessment and surgery including post head injury

A referral from an Optometrist or registered medical practitioner is preferred but not essential.
