Dr Joanne McKnight

MB BS 2005 Newcastle; FRNZCGP 2016

I am originally from Newcastle upon Tyne, in the North East of England. This is where I studied medicine and gained membership with the Royal College of General Practitioners. 

Chris and I moved to New Zealand in 2011. After working locally for a few years we bought the medical centre in Ōhope in April 2014.

As a General Practitioner I get most reward from working in a small community, knowing my patients and their families. I have special interests in women's health, care of the elderly and dementia. Part of my job entails providing all the primary care needs for the residents in the local dementia rest home. 

We live locally in Ōhope with our three young children. I enjoy being a mum, walks on the beach, croissants and coffee.
