Dr Merijn speaks English, Dutch and French and was drawn to medicine for its unique blend of science and human connection. After completing a residency in internal medicine, he developed a strong interest in infectious diseases, which he later expanded through tropical medicine training in Antwerp and work with Doctors Without Borders. These experiences ultimately led him to family medicine, where he found the greatest sense of purpose in caring for people over time.
His clinical interests include diabetes care, geriatrics, infectious diseases and vaccinations, dermatology, end-of-life support, ethics and minor surgical procedures. He especially values caring for whole families, building trusted relationships and supporting patients through both everyday concerns and more complex health challenges.
Outside of work, he enjoys hiking, cycling, football, cooking and reading everything from fiction to nature writing and philosophy.
