Referral
Access to the retinal screening service is via referral from the THINK Hauora General Practice Team.
Services Provided
People with diabetes are at risk of developing eye damage called diabetic retinopathy. When a person has been diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes, the THINK Hauora General Practice Team will refer them to an Optometrist to monitor any changes. This examination should be completed every 2 to 3 years.
